In late 2007, he uploaded the first video in his Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism series (which completed in early 2009), which put his channel on the map as one of the first popular atheist channels on YouTube. Aron is most recognized for his extensive catalog of videos and talks explaining evolutionary biology and taxonomy, and debunking (more like intellectually eviscerating) creationist arguments against evolution. Aron is also a prolific skeptical activist, and served as president of the Atheist Alliance of America for several years. In 2017, he also attempted a run for District 2 of the Texas State Senate, but ended up withdrawing from the race and backed his more well-funded Democratic opponent.

History

In 2017, Aron Ra (pronounced "are-on raw", never "air-en ray") had his name legally changed so that he could run for Texas state senate as his YouTube handle: "AronRa."
